JVC Sold For a Knockdown Price Of $680M

Struggling consumer electronics company JVC has been flogged off to a US private equity company for the knock down price of $680 million, which analysts say is cheap for a global brand.

Matsushita Electric has reportedly accepted a bid from the U.S. private equity firm Texas Pacific Group to purchase basket electronics company JVC which sponsors the Channel Nine show Funniest Home Video. The price: a mere $680 million.

Seems to be a very huge event going on for the company huh?? Change Boss leh, don’t play play… but actually right here at JVC Electronic Singapore Ltd Pte, didn’t feel the impact of this very much. We do aware that this is happening, but it is all through underground news spread all around the Electrical Department, the management never mention this is happening in any of the meetings.

We do expect a change after this has happen; there will be quite some changes in the management, may be to the working culture as well… Most probably we will be able to stay, according to seniors these kinds of changes normally will not affect the bottom level so much. See what will happen lor.

Feeling quite SAD knowing that the company is not doing very well, and the global brand is being sold cheap. I do feel belong to this company, and as much as possible, I want to be proud of the company I stay in. ^^;
